Tuesday... Santa Fe

Everyone learned to carve their own rubber stamps today. Despite the challenge of stamping onto the textured watercolor paper in our journals, the designs were beautiful. I was really impressed (pun intended) with the work.

After lunch, Jessica did a lesson on drawing and coloring adobe houses and chili peppers.

I worked a bit more on my sketch of the Old Pecos ruin from Sunday.

And we explored the neighborhood looking for interesting examples of adobe walls and doors.

We headed back to the hotel and spent the next four hours drawing and being really silly!  (Fun!)

I need to work on the guacamole a bit more...

By the way, Lisa Heron is "brilliant".

  1. Looks like a good combination of learning new techniques and getting to know the area and people. I'll have to addit to my list of potential classes.

  2. Everything looks great, especially the Chili Ristra! I always make a trip to the Jackalope when we are in Santa Fe.

  3. Thrilling beyond belief! I'm trying to incorporate drawing into my life experiences, but because other family members are already incorporated into my life experiences, find it difficult to expand my desires. I'll have to make more of an effort AND review your blog on the subjects several times. Would love it if you did an online course related to this subject!

  4. Yes, it has been fun! And keep bugging me about online classes. I would love to do some, but I'm not sure what would be most helpful.
