Tangled Stairs, Part 3

Still going! That's a lot of wall to cover...
For this session of wall tangling, I was joined again by Krystin Watts, Bette Abdu, Jodi Ehler, and Alex Bartholomew.

Alex decided to add an Egyptian tangle to the heating pipes.
Jodi started adding shading to her mushrooms.
A close-up of Jodi's Shrooms with shading and Bette's Crescent Moon and Rain - also shaded.
I started adding shading to Valerie Kelley's section.

Think we can finish up in one more session? Hmmm.... I'll let you know what date it will be - might be in November. But if you are in the Warner area this weekend for the Warner Fall Foliage Festival, be sure to stop by and take a look. I "plan" to be doing some Zentangle® inspired face painting - we'll see how that works out. If it ends up being one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" projects, then I may cut my losses and do some more work on the wall. Either way, the Festival is a lot of fun. It completely takes over the town - vendors, dancing, demos, rides, and all the food is local this year. The Foothills restaurant will have a booth with apple dumplings. My mouth is watering just typing that!

  1. I just found your wonderful artwork and I am totally loving it! I have been doodling for years and am thrilled to find inspiration and a new word for it - zentangle! So exciting. I love the idea of doing this on walls (and everywhere for that matter) but I was wondering if you were using a special type of sharpie for the wall or just standard permanent markers? Thanks for the inspiration! I am going to the book store today to investigate Zentangle books.

  3. Thanks! And Christina - Welcome to this Tangled world!! We use Sharpie oil-based paint markers to draw the tangles on the walls, and black acrylic paint mixed with lots of gel medium for the shading. Oh - and while "investigating" Zentangle books? Be sure and get all of mine!! ;-D Hee hee.

  5. I'd love to do something like that to this hideous boarding house I live in, but the landlady, while she likes my artwork (mostly Zentangle patterns, and a lot of ZIA), would have a hissy fit if something was done to lighten up the ugly faux-panelled walls.
